Advance Planning Pays Off for Start-Ups – How business plans pay off

A study from the Small Business Administration finds that entrepreneurs who write formal business plans early in the startup process tend to get their companies up and running more quickly than those who put off their plan until later. "Early formal planners are doers," according to the study authors, who suggest that a business plan allows potential supporters to see the feasibility of a concept and push the entrepreneur to see it through.
