NorthWestern Energy seeks electricity buyers for two upcoming projects

NorthWestern Energy http://www.northwesternenergy.com/ says it intends to conduct "open seasons" for two electric transmission projects.

That means potential customers will be able to reserve capacity on proposed transmission lines. The company says it helps ensure a transmission line is built to meet the demand, and the project will have the revenue necessary to support the investment.

"An open season is a very defined reservation process. Potential customers have the ability … to reserve capacity on a transmission line, which enables us to determine the level of interest, support and requirements for our system going forward," NorthWestern spokeswoman Claudia Rapkoch said Friday.
