Civic-minded transplants form Kalispell Neighbors

Couple wants to make a difference in Kalispell after recent move from Utah

"We wanted to have some kind of impact on people. We wanted to make this a place where our kids could really enjoy growing up," Krystal Herrick said.

So Robert Herrick, 40, and wife Krystal, 36, created Kalispell Neighbors http://kalispellneighbors.org/ last month.

Herrick is a microchip process engineer recruited by Semitool in 2007. He survived last week’s round of layoffs.

Neither Robert nor Krystal Herrick had ever been in Montana prior to 2007. But she researched the state and Kalispell on the Internet, and they fell in love with the area.
