Columbia Falls, Montana Aluminum to shut down

The Columbia Falls Aluminum Co. has given its employees a 60-day notice that the plant will be shutting down, eliminating about 200 jobs, the Flathead Beacon reported on its Web site.
CFAC spokesman Haley Beaudry said low demand and prices for aluminum along with a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that could lead to higher electricity prices contributed to the planned shutdown.
Employees were notified Tuesday morning.
