Columbia University Spin-Off Takes First Place in Start-Up Competition

Columbia University spin-off company, StackSafe, Inc. http://www.stacksafe.com/ , is the winner of the 2008 National University Start-Up Competition.

Beating out more than 400 entrants from across the country, StackSafe was awarded first prize after a rigorous assessment by an online panel of over 300 venture capitalists, angel investors, and university judges.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from such a tremendous group of experienced investors and entrepreneurs,” said Loren Burnett, StackSafe’s CEO and President. “We extend special thanks to Columbia, which encouraged us to take part in the competition.
