The Montana Department of Commerce has awarded $10,000 in funding from the Community Development Block Grant – Economic Development (CDBG-ED) Program to the City of Hamilton to complete a feasibility study and submit a plan for the creation of a tax increment finance district (TIF) for the Old Corvallis Road area.

“These funds will play an important role in helping Hamilton officials plan for the future,” said Governor Brian Schweitzer. “As our communities grow, so does the need for sustainable public infrastructure.”

“The Montana Department of Commerce is proud to assist the City of Hamilton in this feasibility study,” said Anthony Preite, Director of the Montana Department of Commerce. “We are committed to helping Montana communities in their economic development efforts.”

Ravalli County Economic Development Authority will assist with the administration of the project. Both the City of Hamilton and Ravalli County have provided $5,000 each in additional funding for the project.

The CDBG-ED program receives funding from the Community Development Block Grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
