Another chance for high school dropouts in Helena, Montana

Over the years, public schools have taken steps to make sure they are meeting the needs of all students.

Examples include an alternative learning program for youths who don’t do well in traditional classrooms, and beefed up early-age instruction to give youngsters a better chance at educational success.

Now the Helena School District is launching a program to get more high school dropouts back on a path toward a high school diploma.

Access to Success http://www.umhelena.edu/ProspectiveStudents/ProgramOfferings/AccesstoSuccess/tabid/819/Default.aspx , a joint effort between the district and the University of Montana-Helena http://www.umhelena.edu/ , will begin in January with 16 to 20 students at UM-Helena.
