Kuglin and GCS Research to Co-Present at TIE 2002 Conference

John Kuglin and Alex Philp of GCS Research will co-present a workshop on Web-based map,
image and document services at the TIE 2002 conference at Copper Mountain, CO, June
25-26th. K-12 industry applications, distributed GIS services, and ESRI and LizardTech
solutions will be highlighted along with live, Web-based demonstrations. John Kuglin will
also deliver the keynote address at this event.

John Kuglin is the Vice President of Education and Training Programs for ComChoice Inc.
ComChoice is the only North American affiliate licensed and certified to author Warner
Brothers feature films in the DVD format. In addition to ComChoice, John serves as an
educational consultant, delivering keynote addresses to conferences nationally and
internationally. He recently retired from the University of Montana as the Associate Dean for
Continuing Education and Executive Director for UM/NASA’s EOS Education Project.

Alex Philp is a member of GCS Research LLC. GCS Research is a geospatial information
technology company specializing in the interdisciplinary development of Web-based map,
image, and document services for a variety of private and public sector organizations. GCS
Research pioneers the evolution of Geographic Communication Systems as distributed
networks for sharing mission-critical geospatial and multimedia information. Mr. Philp also
serves as the Director of the Geospatial Research Group in the Dept. of Geography at The
University of Montana and is former Assistant Director of NASA’s EOS Education Project and
Founding Director of the NASA-funded National Lewis and Clark Education Center at The
University of Montana.
