The sixth Annual Rocky Mountain College computer-programming competition for high school students will be Nov. 8, in Technology Hall in Billings.

The competition combines an eastern region competition and a championship round that includes winners of the western region competition that was held on Oct. 6 at Helena High. Teams from Missoula Sentinel High and Helena High, winners of the earlier competition, will be joined by teams from Billings-area high schools and from Sheridan and Powell, Wyo.

Teams of high school juniors and seniors compete by solving computer-programming tasks. Three top teams from preliminary rounds in the morning compete in sudden-death "compute-off" in the afternoon. The public is invited to the final round of the competition, which begins at 1 p.m. in Technology Hall.
