$100K federal grant goes to Yellowstone Airport

The airport at West Yellowstone is one of two in the state that will receive grants from the federal government designed to help communities respond to their air transportation needs, Montana’s U.S. Senators announced Tuesday.

"Sixty-six communities applied for this Small Community Air Service Development Grant and we’re one of only sixteen who received it," said airport manager Tony Bean, "We had alot of broad regional participation in support letters, ranging from Island Park to Big Sky and the town. The West Yellowstone Chamber Economic Development Council and the town are partnering with the airport to come up with a match for the grant."
