The Montana University System – Everybody wants you to thrive, and help is all around – "College 101" is a greart resource

Kerra Melvin is a junior at Montana Tech. She is 21 years old, majoring in business. She works part time to help with expenses. And she’s my boss. What?!

I have been a president of two colleges, a vice president at another, a teacher before that, and I now head the Montana university system.

How could a 21-year-old student be my boss? Gov. Brian Schweitzer appointed her to a one-year term on the Board of Regents. The Board has seven members, one of whom is always a student. The student has just as much voice, vote and influence as the other board members — sometimes more.

This could be you.
