Semitool of Kalispell, Montana offers $10,000, free education and a job to innovative Canadian students. 75 Machinist Positions Open

If someone offered you $10,000, free education and a job, would you move to Montana?

Bruce Severson, owner of Semitool http://www.semitool.com/ , a manufacturing company in Kalispell, Mont., has 75 machinist positions to fill. He offered NTMA students $10,000 each to relocate to Montana, and said he would finance their continuing education.

Students at NTMA Training Center in Ontario received just such a proposal last week when they impressed more than the judges in the Westec Manufacturing Challenge, a college engineering competition at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Ontario school took first place among two-year colleges with its "Cool-Bev" entry – an invention that uses a common household ingredient and a specially crafted cup to cool drinks on demand.

The people of Semitool are the constant guiding force of our business. They are hard-working, self-reliant, the kind of people you want to work with on a daily basis. Some say it takes these characteristics to survive the Montana winter, others say it is the core value of people attracted to Montana. Maybe it’s both…does this describe you? Semitool combines a rare quality of life (Northwest Montana) and a competitive spot in the semiconductor industry.
