Sweetgrass, Montana County High School finds above average academic success. School earns national recognition from the Siemens Foundation for excellence in math and science.

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

As most schools around the country struggle to get students excited about math and science, the Sweetgrass County High School http://www.sgchs.com/ and http://www.sweetgrasscounty.com/sghs/ in Montana is finding a way to be successful.

"First they’re finding bacteria and then they’re isolating it and identifying it," says Biology teacher Aaron Hansen.

As Aaron Hansen prepares his students for advanced placement biology classes, he’s not only getting them interested in science. He’s offering them a shot at college credit.
