MAPS: Media Arts in the Public Schools & Corvallis High School Receives Best Buy Teach Award

MAPS: Media Arts in the Public Schools http://www.mediarts.org & Corvallis High School announced today that it has received a $2,000 Teach Award from Best Buy Co., Inc, for integrating interactive technology into its curriculum.

The MAPS/Corvallis partnership began in 2004 and in the last four years the program has evolved from a pure educational effort into a profitable production company. Now in five Montana locations (Corvallis, Missoula, Bozeman, Red Lodge and Wolf Point) MAPS and its teenage, student filmmakers currently have television commercials running in 38 states and was just honored with the 2008 “Award of Excellence” from the San Francisco Based, Society of New Communications Research.

“Our Montana MAPS students are amazing. And a special thanks to the administrators at Corvallis High School – without them none of this would have been possible,” said MAPS President, Peter Rosten.
