Local Montana artists and their foundries take Calgary Stampede by storm

When it came to designing the 18 trophies to be awarded over the next five years at the Calgary Stampede, local artists from Belgrade, Bozeman and Livingston stepped up, getting the nod for more than half the bronze sculptures.

Con Williams of Belgrade, Tobin Capp of Bozeman and Mary Michael of Livingston lugged their bronze creations to Calgary in October to be judged against competitors from across the continent. By the end of the weekend, Williams had won six, Capp three and Michael one.
