Job Description
Provides applications programming services as a member of a development team responsible for the development of application software for external clients. On an individual basis or with team members, completes the analysis and design of new applications using an established development methodology.
– Participates in all phases of the software design and development lifecycle.
– Prepares written detailed design specifications.
– Writes code for on-line and batch modules.
– Performs unit, system, and integration testing.
– Analyzes reported application problems, makes appropriate modifications, and tests results.
– Prepares system and operations documentation.
– Participates in design and code walkthroughs.
– Interfaces with customer representatives.
– Participates in the preparation of deliverables.
– Plans and monitors assigned tasks and deadlines. Makes regular reports on the status and estimates to completion of assigned tasks.
– Learns the technical programming languages, database, tools, and application systems required as well as the techniques and practices employed by Northrop Grumman in the performance of our contracts.
– Demonstrates capable and independent analysis, good judgement, and an ability to deduce valid conclusions based on evidence provided by our users.
– Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members, other employees, and customer staff.
– Performs additional duties as appropriate or as requested.
Job Requirements
Working knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of computer systems and equipment.
Knowledge of current systems analysis, design, programming, testing, and maintenance techniques and practices. Familiarity and experience developing Java Server Pages (JSP) and JDBC for web applications.
Familiarity with Javascript for web development, Oracle, PL/SQL, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal and organization skills.
