The desired employee will be responsible for engineering and documentation of telecommunications networks. Desired candidates should have previous experience working with telecommunications networks including IP and central office power systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide engineering support for facilities, network, special projects, and various ancillary systems such as AC and DC power systems. Use organizational skills to manage projects from start to finish. Provide R&D support including product testing, verification, and documentation. Use Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD to maintain network schematics, floor plans, logical diagrams and network documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

– Knowledge and understanding of ATM, IP, MPLS, standard routing protocols and Cisco hardware

– Possess a working knowledge of ancillary systems that help provide network services, including telecom central office power systems such as -48VDC and UPS systems, cross-connect systems such as DACS and DS-x systems, and general best practices for design and implementation of the above

– Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, MSProject) and AutoCAD

– Detail-oriented

– Project management skills

Other Requirements:

– Must be willing to travel, and occasionally work irregular/late night hours and weekends

– Must have a valid Montana drivers license or equivalent

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University, preferable major of EE or EET; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
