University of Montana gets $3MM grant to aid reservation teachers

Adding fancy technology and building impressive libraries might help Montana’s rural schools provide a better education for their students, but improving K-12 education in the state’s smallest and poorest schools also rests in the hands of passionate, qualified teachers who want to live and work in rural Montana.
The problem, however, is that people who have the greatest stake in rural Montana also live there, and don’t necessarily have the education they need to work as certified teachers, or don’t have the financial resources to pursue those dreams.
