MAPS: Media Arts in the Public Schools is now in five new communities.

(Bozeman, Kalispell, Missoula, Red Lodge and Wolf Point)

Paying for these programs is an ongoing effort and now you can help.

(and it will only take a minute of your time.)

We’ve applied for support from My Hometown Helper.com http://www.myhometownhelper.com/ to help us pay for the Wolf Point program.

If you click here http://www.myhometownhelper.com/ViewProject.aspx?tell=2&id=26315 you’ll go be directed to our project on the Hometown Helper website.

Once there, please fill out the comment and tell them you support our program.

Many thanks,

MAPS

MAPS™: Media Arts in the Public Schools was founded in 2004. Our philosophy believes that young learners benefit greatly by early experience in the communication technologies.

Our short-term goal is to develop a student’s creative voice, communication ability and confidence through classroom activities and independent study. Our long-term objective is teaching skills (teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, problem solving) that will lead to valuable employment in many fields.

In addition to educating MAPS encourages entrepreneurship and economic development; 40% of our income comes from fee-based client services and consulting contracts – MAPS educates and creates jobs for our students.

To date, we have been exclusive to publc schools. However, recently we entered into a partnership with the Montana Boys and Girls Clubs to expand statewide. This fall we are bringing our MAPS program to five clubs, among them the Wolf Point Boys and Girls Club. This Club is on the Sioux and the Assiniboine Tribes reservation and will be the first Native American MAPS program in the state. For information about MAPS, http://www.mediarts.org.

Our mission is to educate, train and create quality jobs for youth. FYI – our public school program is cash-flow positive and profitable and our ROI in human capital is proven. Our goal at all the clubs including Wolf Point is to create student owned profitable businesses by year three. Note: we have secured $21,000 of our $42,000 budget – a hometown helper grant would help immensely.
