Montana OPI Provides Infinite Campus Montana Edition Statewide

Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) has selected Infinite Campus as its statewide student information system. OPI contracted with Infinite Campus for the purchase of the Infinite Campus Montana Edition, which is being provided to all districts at no cost.

In the past 18 months, the OPI completed the implementation of the Infinite Campus State Edition for Montana’s statewide K-12 student information system, AIM (Achievement in Montana). This included the assignment of unique student identifiers to more than 144,000 students, registration of students for the statewide assessments, and reporting of Adequate Yearly Progress for each school and district using data extracted from AIM.

"We are pleased that OPI is providing Montana Edition throughout the state," said Madalyn Quinlan, OPI Chief of Staff. "The Montana Edition allows districts to control access and manage student information locally, and yet will provide data in real time to the Infinite Campus State Edition used by OPI."

Montana Edition is designed to meet the needs of districts not requiring the comprehensive functionality of the Infinite Campus District Edition (ICDE). Smaller districts may find the Montana Edition sufficient to meet their needs. However, districts that upgrade to ICDE will receive a discount toward the purchase of ICDE or a maintenance contract.

District-wide usage of Montana Edition and Infinite Campus District Edition gives OPI access to the student data that is required at the state level, and districts will have the usability of an integrated student management system that streamlines data entry and improves district efficiency.

"In addition to providing an integrated data management system throughout the state, system management is simplified with Montana Edition, since it is hosted by OPI," said Charlie Kratsch, Founder and CEO of Infinite Campus. "Through hosting, the district can rely on the state to manage hardware servers, OS licenses, database licenses, updates, patches, nightly backups and maintenance. State provided hosting also ensures that Campus is always up to date."

Statewide implementation of the Montana Edition is now underway with a scheduled completion time of December 2007 for all 331 Montana school systems.
