The Big Sky Venture Capital Conference is pleased to announce this year’s line up of speakers and the first round of selected presenting companies.

The Conference team is pleased to announce this year’s line up of speakers. Russ Sullivan, top advisor to Senator Max Baucus, will be keynoting the 3rd Annual Big Sky Venture Capital Conference slated for August 23 – 24 at Big Sky Resort.

Sullivan is advisor in all issues in the committee’s jurisdiction, including taxation on the proposed change on carried interest as income and the benefits to business owners and venture capitalists. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet with Mr. Sullivan in person to share your thoughts on carried interest taxation. Mr. Sullivan has expressed a keen interest in meeting with and gaining feedback from executives and the broader financial community about this important legislation impacting everyone.

Also joining the line-up of this premier regional VC event is Andrew Field, founder and CEO of PrintingForLess.com in Livingston, MT (http://www.printingforless.com). Andrew will share his thoughts on how to build and grow a web-based business in a rural market. With sales in excess of $25M annually, 180 employees and a brand new state of the art facility, Andrew is approached regularly by national VC and Private Equity firms. PFL is the largest e-commerce commercial printer in the U.S. and has sustained healthy growth rates for several years.

Brad Feld and Jonathan Weber will discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities of rural venture investing. Brad is both a successful venture capitalist (Softbank, Mobius and Foundry) and angel investor with experience in the entire Rocky Mountain region. Jonathan is an experienced entrepreneur, (http://www.newwest.net) having raised venture and angel capital in both San Francisco and Missoula, Montana. Clearly there are opportunities to make above average returns in rural markets but equally as clear is that there is a big difference in the investment process.
