Senior IT Technician

Responsibilities: Provides Tier 2 support for all company products, including online, XML and CD-ROM based services; examples include issues with connecting to our systems and products, data issues, and technical errors. Sets up, configures and maintains in excess of 150 computer servers and workstations, telephone system, network hardware and software, power supplies and peripherals. Assists computer users and customers with operational problems. Performs company backups. Maintains tracking of support issues/needs, assets, system updates and support trends via IT help desk software. Serves as member of On-Call/Alert Response Team and as member of other IT teams as required. Performs basic/introductory duties of Systems Administrator as needed (see Systems Administrator Job Description). Mentors IT Technicians and provides training. Serves as Help Desk Administrator and assigns Help Desk tasks as needed to IT Technicians. This position also provides support and assistance to the other functions within the Programming and IT Operations departments as needed.

Qualifications: Combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and at least 2 years of related experience with basic PC/Desktop support of applications and hardware, basic networking knowledge, experience with LAN management/administration in a Windows Server operating environment and experience with most Microsoft Workstation and Server Operation Systems. Linux/Unix experience and Network Administrator or Network Engineer certification is a plus.
