State of Montana IT upgrade in works, Out of basement and into new facility "within next few years"

While much of Montana was sleeping last year, the Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) and its line of virus defenders and computer scientists thwarted more than 1 billion attempts to hack into the state’s computer network.
Keeping that system secure both inside and out remains a full-time job. Yet despite its many challenges, the work could become easier thanks to $14.5 million in legislative funding for a new facility designed — not retrofitted — specifically for today’s technology.
