State’s Main Street communities generate $82M

Certified Tennessee Main Street communities are doing more than revitalizing their downtown commercial districts, they are generating investment in Tennessee, which totaled $82 million in 2006.

"These investment figures show how the Main Street program enhances a community’s livability and job creation, while maintaining the historic character of its downtown district," said Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matthew Kisber in a news release.
