Job Description

I. Organizational Relation: Computer and Network Technicians are accountable
to the Vice President.

II. Primary function: Respond to on-site and in-shop computer and network
service requests.

III. Responsibilities:

A. Computer maintenance

1. Provide desktop support to users

2. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues

B. Networking

1. Troubleshoot connectivity to wired and wireless networks

2. Maintain network documentation as client data changes

3. Assist network administrators with installation and maintenance of
networks

C. Miscellaneous Tasks and other duties as assigned

1. Research and keep abreast of new technologies

IV. Minimum job qualifications:

1. Minimum 2 years practical experience

2. A+ certification

3. One additional certification is preferred.

4. Working knowledge of the following:

a. Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista, Office 2000/XP/2007 and other common
applications

b. Server operating systems including Windows 2000 Server and Windows
2003 Server

c. Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, WLAN, and Ethernet

5. Perseverance to troubleshoot and learn new technology with minimal or
no formal training

6. Ability to prioritize and balance needs with available resources

7. Strong communication skills

8. Detail oriented, self-starter needing little direction, take ownership in
projects

9. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
interface with users and management

V. Time Requirements: 20 hr/wk minimum, more depending on need, nights
and weekends on occasion as requested by clients schedules. Hours may
increase as work provides.
