Summit seeks ways to improve education on reservations in Montana

How does a tribal institution stand out among the hundreds of federally funded tribal agencies trying to maintain their services in the wake of the budget-munching Iraqi war, let alone convince government leaders that his school needs more money to improve programs?

"We need to show what are value is, and how our success leads to improving the local economy," said Salois, whose school has about 75 staff members and 465 students. "We are providing a valuable service to Indians and non-Indians wanting an education."
