Townsend business, PFM Manufacturing, will get marketing boost from federal grant program

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

In a press release, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., who chairs the Senate Finance Committee, said he wants to expand the program to cover more businesses. The program is currently authorized at $16 million annually, and Baucus said he’d like to add an additional $50 million.
