Montana Career Opportunity – General Manager for OneEighty Communications in Billings, Montana.

ESCHELON TELECOM and ONEEIGHTY COMMUNICATIONS JOIN FORCES IN MONTANA!!

We are currently seeking a General Manager for OneEighty Communications in Billings, Montana.

This individual is an experienced, results-oriented telecommunications professional with background in financial, operational and service management.

Eschelon Telecom and OneEighty Communications offer small and medium sized businesses a comprehensive line of telecommunications and Internet products.

Eschelon, which is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, currently employs approximately 1,400 telecommunications/Internet professionals, serves over 60,000 business customers, operates with revenue of $250 million, and has approximately 500,000 access lines in service throughout its markets in Minnesota, Arizona, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, and California.

OneEighty Communications operates in Billings and Bozeman, Montana, employs 34 telecommunications/Internet professionals, serves 1,500 customers, and reports revenue of $7.2 million.

General Manager Responsibilities:

Financial and Operations Performance

• Preparing budget and management of financial performance measures (Sales, Revenue, Capex, Ebitda)

• Defining and monitoring performance targets and key business metrics

• Working effectively across local departments, supporting departments located at Eschelon corporate, and integrating work functions as necessary

• Ensuring service quality meets customers’ expectations

• Managing/directing functional areas including

o Sales

o Equipment, ALE, and T-1 installation, service, and repair

o Network operations (switch and fiber)

o OSS system infrastructure

o Customer service, delivery, and dispatch

o Agency agreements, contract development

o Building and grounds

Skilled Workforce

• Selecting and training personnel to maintain a highly skilled workforce

• Defining roles and performance targets

• Conducting performance evaluations

• Coaching for success

Community Relations

• Developing and maintaining community relations

• Coordinating company engagement in (outreach and marketing) and support of community programs

General Manager Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, other related field, or equivalent; technical degree and/or advanced business degree a plus

• Minimum of five years experience in telecommunications industry, including supervisory/managerial experience

• Experience with business strategies as well as their associated metrics

• Superior communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at multiple levels to work cross organizationally toward solutions; excellent leadership and consensus building skills

• Exceptional project management skills and the ability to coordinate and oversee concurrent projects across multiple functional company departments

• Influencing and change management skills

This position reports to the EVP of Network Operations & Engineering.
