The Butte Local Development Corp. may sell land with incentives for job creation

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

The Butte Local Development Corp. is studying ways to turn land it owns in the Butte Industrial Park into a tool for creating new employment opportunities.

“Our mission and our goal is to help businesses create jobs,” executive director Jim Smitham told the BLDC board Thursday.
