I have appended the Executive Summary of a paper entitled “Powering Up the Smart Grid: A Northwest Initiative for Job Creation, Energy Security and Clean, Affordable Electricity” below. As Idaho embarks on its first statewide energy plan, it has an opportunity to be a leader in an inevitable overhaul of how electricity is created, distributed and consumed.
