Turf battle between MSU and Montana Tech is nano-sized

The latest turf battle to break out in the Montana University System concerns the tiniest possible turf.
It’s nano-sized, about as big as 10 atoms. Nano means very, very small — but it could mean big bucks from federal research grants and big opportunities for the state’s economy.
Montana State University was accused at Thursday’s Board of Regents meeting of trying to grab control of Montana Tech’s new research project on nano-materials.
