Pennsylvania Gov. Rendell launches program to put 35,000 laptops in classrooms
September 21, 2006 /
During a visit to Wilkinsburg High School yesterday, Gov. Ed Rendell officially announced the start of a three-year, $200 million program to furnish high school classrooms with laptop computers and wireless Internet access.
"We are not equipping our young people with all the tools they need in a technical, global economy," he said. "We won’t rest until every one of our school buildings has high-speed Internet."
