YouTube.com becomes new battleground for Montana Senate race

An outside group is inserting itself into Montana’s U.S. Senate race today with television ads around the state purporting to link Republican U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns to oil money.

In the ad, posted Tuesday on the popular Web site YouTube http://www.YouTube.com , a large man with slicked-back hair and a mustache sits behind a big desk and says "Things have been going great for us here at Big Oil." A cash register ka-chings, and the view switches to prices going up on a gas pump.

"And I love your Sen. Conrad Burns, too," the man says, adding that Burns voted for $3.8 billion in tax breaks and subsidies for oil companies.
