North Idaho College lowers tuition for Washington, Montana students starting next year

The North Idaho College board of trustees, in an effort to bolster enrollment from Montana and Washington state students, have voted to reduce tuition for those students next year.

"I think we can draw students from those schools if our tuition is in a range that’s viable for them," Eric Murray, vice president for student services, told The Spokesman-Review.

Montana students now pay $4,488 per year, while students from Washington pay $4,040. When classes start in 2007, they would pay $3,165, about what it would cost them to attend any of the six community colleges in their home states.
