Making it happen. Area entrepreneurs invest in Pensacola

"I think from an economic development standpoint we could become a regional magnet for entrepreneurs if we could give them access to capital, and did some marketing and PR."

As success stories go, there are few better than Tad Ihns’ and Bryan Clark’s for illustrating the promise and potential payoff of Northwest Florida’s growing entrepreneurial community.

Both men founded successful companies elsewhere and eventually moved them to Pensacola to take advantage of what they describe as Florida’s positive business climate and alluring quality of life.

And while their backgrounds differ — Ihns, a Pensacola native, and Clark, a New Yorker — they share a common and outspoken interest in seeing Pensacola and the Panhandle create a more fertile environment for risk-takers and entrepreneurs.

"I think from an economic development standpoint we could become a regional magnet for entrepreneurs if we could give them access to capital, and did some marketing and PR," said Clark, founder and CEO of Silver Bullet Technologies, a company that designs and sells check-scanning software for the banking industry.
