Search for help worsens in the Sidney, MT area.

“Help wanted” and “now hiring” signs dotting store front windows throughout the valley; “employment” classified ads is demanding more space every week; and long customer lines clogging local establishments are symptoms of the Sidney area employment crunch and indicators of the severity of the situation.

Being short staffed seems to be a widespread epidemic as the economy booms. With more customers and less staff, everyone from customers to owners are experiencing the residual impacts of the area’s energy boom.

As September approaches, businesses and industries are feeling the area employment crunch further tighten its grip with no signs of letting up any time soon.

With the beet harvest and school semesters commencing just weeks away, many in Sidney’s businesses are preparing for the effects of the crunch to deepen.
