Cable Tech lands contract to help Boeing build P-8A aircraft

Cable Technology, Inc., http://www.cablemt.com a growing Great Falls business, has been awarded a contract to help Boeing build a new P-8A multi-mission maritime aircraft for the Navy, U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns announced Monday.

In the initial contract, Cable Tech will provide electrical and coaxial assemblies for the first three P-8A aircraft, with follow-on contracts expected later, the Montana Republican said. Boeing anticipates it will sell 108 of the new aircraft to the U.S. Navy as a replacement for the P-3C.

The first aircraft will be delivered to the Navy in 2009, with the aircraft to be operationally capable by 2013.

The plane will use the proven, fuel-efficient 737 frame.
