Sidney’s program being used as model for other e-waste projects

July 23, 2006View for printing

Setting the example for other Montana cities, the Sidney area’s progressive action of hosting a successful e-waste event last summer has spawned a statewide movement.

The impressive success of last summer’s “E-rase your E-waste” event, which resulted in the proper disposal of more than four tons of electronic waste products, caught the attention of state officials.

“When Sidney pulled it off, we thought why not other cities across Montana,” Sandra Boggs, Recycling and Marketing Development specialist, Air, Energy and Pollution Prevention Bureau, said.

Sidney and Bozeman were the only two cities in Montana to host the state’s first e-waste recycling collection events last year.
