Missoula call center lands yearlong Kia contract

Representatives from Kia Motors America were in town Tuesday, ostensibly to initiate training for a new survey program at Research Data Design’s Missoula call center, but also to barbecue and to show off three models of Kia cars.

Portland, Ore.-based Research Data Design signed a yearlong contract with Kia to handle the car company’s nationwide customer-service research. The survey and research will be conducted exclusively by the company’s Missoula call center, which has about 180 employees – with capacity to hire as many as 100 more, said Missoula site manager Jerianne Schmidgall.

The contract with Kia “means steady, additional business,” for the call center, Schmidgall said.
