Montana Alberta transmission line projected to stimulate $1 billion in wind farm development.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) held a second public meeting in Cut Bank on June 26 supposedly to explain new alternative routes for the proposed Montana Alberta Tie Ltd. (MATL) transmission line. The routes were briefly mentioned during the nearly three hour meeting, which was held in the Joe Meagher Memorial Civic Center.

For the majority of the meeting out-of-the-area residents expressed their concerns about right-of-way issues, pole structure, the eminent domain process and private land rights. Many of the comments expressed during the meeting could not be heard, due to the lack of a microphone and poor acoustics in the building.
