Montana’s 1st couple promote knowledge of science

Montana first lady Nancy Schweitzer has had a passion for science since her third-grade teacher in Billings took the students on field trips to spot birds.
Nearly 40 years later, she and her husband, Gov. Brian Schweitzer, have launched the Governor and First Lady Math and Science Initiative.
Their credentials? She has a bachelor’s degree in botany, while he has his master’s degree in soil science, both from Montana State University.
