Fort Union, Montana Rendezvous attracts worldwide tourists

Celebrating peaceful relations in the spirit of the fur trade, exploration and determination is the focus of the Fort Union Rendezvous, which annually draws visitors from around the world to the region.

Typically drawing a crowd of 3,000 or more, Fort Union’s largest annual event brings together buck-skinners and other traditional time period craftsmen and women exhibiting goods for trading while providing educational opportunities through a variety of skilled demonstrations.

There were some 20 re-enactors demonstrating skills including blacksmithing, beaver skinning, finger weaving and 19th-century dress at this year’s event.
