What is accountability?

We define it as up-front ownership for the results you produce. Even if you don’t get the best outcome, can you still say, ”I own the results of what happened here”? When you have a culture of accountability, you will not have finger-pointing and blaming when things don’t work out. Instead, you’re going to hear responsibility for fixing the problem. You want an employee to say "Here’s how I’ll be accountable." Believe it or not, that’s something that has to be reminded, taught and reinforced at the leadership level of organizations.
