Groups look at economic boost of cleanup efforts at upcoming Symposium

Environmentalists and economists have a lot in common when it comes to cleaning up and restoring Montana’s mountains, streams and forests.

And during an upcoming symposium in Billings, those two sectors will explore restoration efforts and examine just how much they contribute to the state’s economy. The 10th annual Billings Land Reclamation Symposium will bring together scientists, economists, industry officials, conservation groups and environmental agencies.

The symposium will spotlight new issues related to land reclamation and rehabilitation. This year Gov. Brian Schweitzer will add an economic spin by playing host to a Restoration Forum following the symposium.
