Company says it can turn Cheyenne, Wyoming’s trash into fuel

A company in Washington says it can turn Cheyenne’s municipal trash into diesel fuel.

Green Power, Inc., is one of four companies to respond to the city’s recent request for proposals to offer trash-to-energy projects to address the city’s trash problem. The city is running out of space in its current landfill and is seeking alternatives.

Michael Spitzauer of Green Power says his company could build a plant that would use a process called "catalytic depolymerization" to convert the city’s trash to diesel fuel.
