Cable Technology Inc. of Great Falls hard at work on Boeing aircraft

Boeing announced Wednesday it has awarded Cable Technology Inc. http://www.cablemt.com/ of Great Falls a contract to modify wiring used on the AWACS, the Air Force’s high-tech surveillance planes.

"We’re thrilled to get this multimillion-dollar contract," said Ed Buttrey, Cable Tech’s president. "It shows Boeing has confidence in us to produce high-quality aerospace hardware as well as the state and community’s willingness to support us."

Buttrey declined to specify the amount of the contract.

He said Cable Tech, which moved most of its operation to the Strain Building at 400 Central Ave. in downtown Great Falls from the Kalispell area last fall, actually started work hand-assembling the wire cable harnesses for Boeing in early March. It delivered its first batch of finished products earlier this month.
