Survey: Americans use Internet to make life decisions like looking for a new place to live.

Nearly half of American Internet users went online for help with major life decisions, such as finding a college for their child or looking for a new place to live, according to a survey quoted by a Reuters report.

According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, the non-profit group that conducted the survey, the Internet was becoming increasingly important to users in their everyday lives, the report said.

Some 45% of Internet users, or an estimated 60 million Americans, said the Internet helped them make big decisions or face major moments in their lives during the previous two years, the survey found, according to the report.
