Anaconda chosen as Montana Main Street site

ANACONDA — It took some doing, but when a handful of local business people decided to go after help from a state and national downtown revitalization program, their efforts snowballed, and then paid off.

On Thursday, Anaconda was selected as a pilot site for the Montana Main Street Program, aimed at improving economics by restoring decaying but historic business districts. Anthony J. Preite, the Director of the Montana Department of Commerce, said Red Lodge and Polson were also chosen in this round of technical assistance grants.
