A high-tech firm has withdrawn a loan request from the Butte Local Development Corp. and has cut jobs after failing to secure a federal contract.

Synesis7, 220 N. Alaska St., won BLDC board approval for a $287,500 loan in January, but withdrew its request after an expected $2.6 million contract fell through, owner Allen Ellmaker said.
