Contest looking for clean tech. State competition focuses on making energy smarter

California is looking for a few good business plans for clean technology.
That was the message San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom delivered Tuesday in announcing what backers are calling the California Clean Tech Open.
The competition is designed to spur interest in the emerging field of making energy in smarter ways or using it more efficiently.
